In 2015, The Luxury Bed Company began with hand-making beds and selling them on Gumtree, building a loyal following.
Today, what started as a side project has grown into an international business with operations in the UK and USA. Despite the growth, our passion for quality and craftsmanship remains at the heart of everything we do.
The Grotto
Back in 2015, The Luxury Bed Company began with Phil handcrafting each bed in a small workshop he called "the grotto" – named because it wasn’t even tall enough to stand up in. Every bed was made with care and attention, sold on Gumtree, where he began building a small but loyal following.
Storage Containers
In the early days, without a permanent space, our beds were stored in containers before being delivered. Each container was carefully packed with the handmade beds that were crafted in our small workshop, ready to be sent to their new owners.
The Van Diaries:
Our First Office
In the early days, Callum and Phil shared their very first office—a van. Day in and day out, they worked side by side in this cramped space, navigating the challenges of running a business without a proper building. It may not have been conventional, but it was here that they forged their partnership and laid the groundwork for The Luxury Bed Company’s growth.
The Warehouse Beginnings
In this unrefined warehouse, we embarked on a new chapter as we built our very first office in the corner. The space was far from perfect—dusty and cluttered—but it marked a significant step forward for The Luxury Bed Company. It was here that we began to expand our operations and turn our dreams into a reality.

Finally, we moved into our office, complete with working Wi-Fi and all the essentials! This was a significant milestone for The Luxury Bed Company. With a proper setup, we could collaborate more effectively and focus on delivering the best for our customers. It marked the beginning of a new era, where our dreams could truly take shape.
Growing Demand:
The Warehouse Full of Beds
As word got out about our beds, demand increased! This warehouse, now packed with our handcrafted creations, shows just how busy we were getting. Each bed was a testament to our commitment to quality, and it was exciting to see more and more orders rolling in from happy customers.

Phil Making Deliveries
Phil was on the road for deliveries! While he had transitioned away from making every bed by hand and had a fantastic team handling production, he still needed to handle many of the deliveries himself making the days long and the nights short!
A Fresh Start:
The New Warehouse
The Luxury Bed Company moved into a new, more modern warehouse! Clean and with organised racking, this space reflected our growth and progress. It was a significant step up, allowing us to streamline our operations and continue providing the quality beds our customers loved. This new warehouse symbolised the exciting journey we were on as a company.
Upstairs in the New Office:
A Touch of Comfort
Upstairs in our new office, we finally had a space that felt like home—complete with carpet! It still wasn’t anything flash, but it functioned well for our needs. This was a big step for The Luxury Bed Company, giving us a comfortable environment to collaborate and innovate. Actually having a carpet made the space feel warm and inviting in comparison to the van!
Loading Up for Deliveries:
A Night Shift
In the quiet of the night, we loaded the van outside the warehouse, preparing for a long day of deliveries ahead. The hustle and bustle of packing the van with our handcrafted beds was a familiar routine, and it set the tone for what was to come. Each delivery was a chance to bring our quality creations to customers, making those late nights worth it.

Uncle Jonny:
The Constant in Our Journey
In this candid moment, Uncle Jonny was seen telling Callum off, a reminder that through all the ups and downs of business, one constant has always been Uncle Jonny being number one. His unwavering presence and love have become part of our culture, reminding us that while we work hard, we also need to keep each other on track and have a good laugh along the way.

The Giant Footstool
Phil stands proudly next to the largest footstool we had ever made, a true testament to our evolving style. This moment marked the beginning of a trend towards bigger and bolder designs, including our signature floor-to-ceiling headboards. It was a clear indication that we were ready to embrace a new era of luxury and creativity in our bed designs
